Project Objectives

To rehouse the object, document and image collections according to new housing guidelines for the purpose of long term preservation.

Project Description

Extensive manual handling of either object, document or image and audio-visual collections housed at the museum’s collection store at Scienceworks; learn up-to-date procedures in collection storage.

Project Outcomes

Student/researcher will participate in a small collection management team, extensive access to museum collections, behind-the-scenes museum experience, professional development in collection management, receive database training and use as needed.

Student Knowledge & Skills

Undertaking or completed a relevant degree in history, museum studies/art curatorship, etc; interest in museum Collection Management.
