Project Objectives

To assess and re-organise collection research files at Melbourne Museum.

Project Description

The History & Technology Collection Archives require reassessment and further documentation. Tasks will include: removing, reclassifying and re-housing selected material from collection files (such as original documents and photographs); verifying file contents and updating the collection database with relevant information.

Project Outcomes

Project will result in improved collection archive resources for use by researchers, while enhancing the documentation of the heritage collection. Student/researcher will participate in a small collection management team, and receive behind-the-scenes museum experience, professional development in collection management, database training and use as needed.

Student Knowledge & Skills

Interest in history and collection management with great attention to detail.
