Station Pier: Gateway to a New Life is a catalogue of the very successful Immigration Museum exhibition. For over 70 years, Station Pier was the gateway to a new home for the many migrants who undertook the long and arduous journey by sea to Australia. The exhibition and catalogue explore the history of this unique part of our heritage through text and images and the voices of the migrants are featured in quotations throughout the book.
Written by Museum Victoria curators and with a foreword by Sir James Gobbo, this catalogue contains colour and black & white reproductions of the photographs, objects and paintings in the exhibition and is a wonderful memento of a significant part of our history.
