A new species in the Ophiocoma erinaceus complex from the South-west Pacific Ocean (Echinodermata: Ophiuroidea: Ophiocomidae)

A new species is described from the Ophiocoma erinaceus complex of tropical ophiuroids, reliably distinguished by the almost complete lack of granulation on the ventral disc surface. The new species is currently known only from the south-west Pacifi c Ocean, ranging from the northern section of the Great Barrier Reef to Tonga.
