Exclusive MV Members Lecture: Writing for Star Wars

4 September 2009

Writing for Star Wars is every fan’s dream, but it takes creativity and imagination to develop background material for the Star Wars universe. In this talk, Powerhouse Museum curator and Star Wars fan Kerrie Dougherty discussed her work as co-author of two Star Wars reference books – Star Wars: Complete Locations and Star Wars: Complete Cross-sections – and how she drew on real-world science and technology to give the fantastic technologies and alien environments of that ‘galaxy far, far away’ realistic backgrounds. Kerrie presented her lecture in the Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks.

Date: Friday 4 September
Time: 5.30pm–8.30pm
