Highlighting the rich culture and talents of the Indigenous people of East Gippsland.

Launched in late June, Kukan, Yackan, Boorai (Grandmother, Mother, Children) is a new exhibition of paintings, drawings and prints presented in collaboration with the East Gippsland Aboriginal Arts Corporation.

The exhibition features work from a mix of younger, emerging and established artists; aged between six and seventy years, the artists span three generations.

'Kukan, Yackan, Boorai provides an exciting opportunity to share the art and culture of the Gunai/Kurnai people with local and international visitors who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit East Gippsland,' said Caroline Martin, Manager of Bunjilaka.

'I've been personally moved by this exhibition, to see so much potential and talent in our Koorie kids is fantastic. To have an opportunity to see what they are seeing as a young Koorie person, with their visual expressions of happiness through colour on canvas, makes me proud and gives me hope. Victorian Indigenous art is on the move ... Look out!'
