Oscar and Albert, our two resident Tawny Frogmouth adults, are proudly showing off their new offspring.

After two unsuccessful attempts, the pair has pulled off the task of raising two fluffy chicks! Now a month old, the chicks ventured out of the nest today for the first time.

Their nest is located in a Nothofagus tree in the southern end of the Forest Gallery, and can be best viewed from the East Ramp.

Once the chicks are old enough to look after themselves, they will be transferred to another zoological institution. In the meantime, they will be trying out their wings in the Forest Gallery, with a wary mum on the lookout!
