The blockbuster exhibition at Scienceworks, Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination, has been extended five more days until 8 November 2009.
As visitor numbers push towards 180,000, the most successful touring exhibition in Scienceworks’ 17-year history continues to draw crowds to see costumes, interactive exhibits, models and props from all six Star Wars movies.
The late-night Thursday openings have been particularly popular thanks in part to the presence of costumed volunteers. Local fans have given close to 4000 hours of their time, the most significant volunteer contribution to any Scienceworks exhibition. Interacting with the Stormtroopers, Jedi and other Star Wars characters stalking through the exhibition has been a big highlight for visitors, and the volunteers have greatly enriched the experience.
This is the final chance to see the exhibition in Australia. It's also the last time the Wookiee tree concept model from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith will be on display anywhere in the world, since it is so fragile.
To avoid disappointment or big queues in the last days of the exhibition, visitors can pre-book tickets online through the Star Wars website.
