The Rocky River Tree Frogs on display in the Forest Gallery have produced scores of small tadpoles. Unlike their insect eating parents, the tadpoles graze on algae growing on rocks or the glass of their display tank. They can cling to the rocks using their mouthparts to avoid being swept down the streams in which they typically live. Over the next few weeks we expect to see their metamorphosis into adult frogs.
