Classroom research project

Work with a group to find when some events happened for the first time in Australia or Victoria. It is not always easy to find evidence of 'first' events. You may have to use words and phrases such 'a very early ...', 'one of the first ...'

Write a brief description of each event you choose and the effects they had on the way of life in Australia.
How did each event change the way of life of the people of that time? Consider the advantages and disadvantages of these changes.
What effect has this event had on our way of life?

Events may include

  • developments in transport
