Learning Outcomes
Years P-10
Student activities and the preparation of reports undertaken using
the databases relate closely to the learning outcomes of the Victorian
Curriculum and Standards Frameworks (CSFII) for:
- Science: Living together: past, present and future
Student are expected to develop skills which include:
- Design
- Measurement
- Data handling and interpretation
- Studies of Society and Environment: Geography
Students are required to:
- Observe, collect and record data in the field
- Process and interpret data
- Interpret maps
- Apply geographic skills ....to locate and describe changes
to natural and built environments
- Mathematics: Measurement and data / Chance and data strands
- English: Strategies for Speaking and Listening, Reading, and Writing
Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
The activities and report writing can also contribute to the following
VCE subjects:
- Geography
- Biology
- Unit 1: Organisms in their environments
- Mathematics
- Units 1 and 2: Foundation Mathematics (Handling data, Measurement
and design)
- Units 3 and 4: Further Mathematics (Data Analysis)
