Stick Insects and Leaf Insects

Description:
Medium to very large insects, long and slender, 30-300mm in length. Shaped and coloured like sticks or leaves, with spines and outgrowths on their body as part of their camouflage. Live mainly in trees and shrubs, but also found amidst grasses, leaf litter and lichens. Eat plant foilage. Predators include frogs, reptiles, birds and mammals. Some reproduce by parthenogenesis.
