Description:
Small, slender insects with piercing/sucking mouthparts. Vary from 0.5-12mm in length. Many have delicate wings with a broad fringe of hairs. They use a sucker-like bladder at the end of the legs to attach themselves to surfaces. Found around their food plants. Eat fungi, pollen, nectar, plant sap and some scale insects. Predators include lacewing insect larvae and other insects. |
