Description:
Medium-sized with an average wingspan of 15mm. The only insects with both a middle tail filament and wings. Found around freshwater streams and ponds. Aquatic nymphs feed on floating organic matter or algae. Short-lived adults never eat. Predators include other insects, spiders, fish, crustaceans, birds and frogs.
