Description:
Large eyes, small antennae, a long slender abdomen 20-150mm in length with small cerci. Have two pairs of large, narrow wings with numerous cross veins. Found around freshwater streams and ponds. Nymphs feed on small aquatic insects. Adults catch insects in flight. Predators include spiders, fish, frogs, reptiles and birds. |
