Assistant Collection Manager, History and Technology Collections
Janet is based at the Moreland Collection Store, where she undertakes documentation of new donations (including copyright) and works closely with the textile and arms collections.
Janet has worked at Museum Victoria since 1991. Prior to that, she worked at Werribee Park Mansion for 6 years.
Janet’s interest in the textile collections stems from her previous employment in the Flinders Lane rag trade, where she dressed the house models in preparation for showing the new fashions of the season. She is now in the process of rehousing the museum's textile collections.
Janet is known for her patience while working through large batches of cataloguing and barcoding, and she is the expert in tying tags onto objects. She is also known for her meticulous attention to spelling and grammatical errors in the collection database!
