- Summary:
- Photograph Album assembled by the E Taylor, it relates to a 21 day bus tour that he and his wife took through the ACT, New South Wales and Victoria in March/April 1938. This album's main attraction for the collection is contained on one page, which features arguably the first postcard of Phar Lap produced by the Museum, as well as an early magazine clipping showing Phar Lap on display surrounded by a group of reverential onlookers.
The album was purchased from a dealer and comes with no provenance, the details have been deduced by examining the album. - Description:
- Rectangular album consisting of a thick cardboard cover and twenty four black double sided pages secured by a length of blue cord. Twenty of the pages are covered with various photographs, clippings, postcards, menus, programs and other ephemera, as well as a piece of bracken fern. Handwritten inside in black ink are the original owner's details as well as `Snaps taken when Jean and I went on a Bonds Tour 21 day holiday to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.' The cover is covered with blue textured imitation leather and blue marbled paper, and `Photographs' in gold printing.
