Apple II Software Game - 'American Civil War, Vol 1', 5¼" Floppy Disk, 1987 Reg. No: HT 13380
- An electronic board-game dealing with the Bull Run to Chancellorsville battle in the American Civil War. The series used the same format but different battle scenarios. Each volume contained one of six famous battles.
This is one of a series of games in which software micromanaged the actions of the individual units for example battalions or artillery assets.
There was also a campaign editor that allowed the user to create their own scenario as many as they liked. An icon editor allowed the one player to edit the graphics. The player was the army commander and the player could play either side. The commander gave general orders to divisions and regiments. The software would then micromanage the orders.
The game had a sound capability that was determined by the limitations of the hardware.
