Letter - New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club to Telford, Phar Lap's Death, 11 Apr 1932 Document Reg. No: HT 13295

This letter of sympathy was one of a large number sent to his trainer and part owner Harry Telford after Phar Lap died in April, 1932. The Telford family retained the letters, and they were donated to the museum in the 1990s.

The name of "Phar Lap"/became a household word to the residents, and I may say,/to the whole of the Dominion, and we were awaiting the/time when the news would be forwarded that your famous/horse would stand paramount as the largest stake-winner/in the world. This achievement was well within grasp at/the time of his death.
