Postcard - Norma & Nelson Marjoram, from Joan Foster, Journey on MV Georgic, May 1955 Reg. No: MM 92146
- Postcard featuring the ship that Joan Foster's family travelled on when they immigrated to Australia from England in 1955. She sent the card to her sister and brother-in-law from the ship. The reverse side is inscribed: 'Dear Norma and Nelson, Just a card to say what a lovely time we are having, we passed Gib (Gibraltar) yesterday, the food and weather are smashing. I will write a letter later. Love Joan'. Considering the donor's recollection of the journey included ordinary food and seasickness, she may have been exaggerating the pleasure of the voyage!
