- Digital photograph of Shirley Martin, a dairy farmer from Hallora near Warragul, Gippsland. Shirley was part of the original advisory group of women who were instrumental in setting up the Women on Farms Skills Courses in the Gippsland region in 1988. She went on to initiate the Women on Farms Discussion Group in 1989 and was a co-founder and convenor of the inaugural Warragul Women on Farms Gathering in 1990. According to Shirley, 'the aim of the Women on Farms Gathering was to bring the farming women of Victoria together, to promote our role as farmers, to supply information on resources available and to provide food for thought' (1990 Warragul Gathering Proceedings).
