Certificate - Aliens Act, Department of Immigration, Wing Henry J Louey Gung, 1947 Document Reg. No: HT 15766

Jeffrey was born in China and migrated with his parents to Australia in 1947. He suffered whooping cough during the journey and was nearly thrown overboard by the captain, who feared an epidemic. He grew up in Travancore near Mt Alexander Road, and recalls Arthur Calwell being a friend of the family and assisting them with immigration matters.
