- Booklet titled 'The Melbourne TV Book', by Keith Winser. Book No. 1 for 1958. Test TV transmissions began in Australian in July 1956 on TCN9 in Sydney and HSV7 in Melbourne. In Melbourne GTV9 became the first station broadcast regularly, followed by HSV7. In 1956 only 1% of Australian Households owned a TV, by 1961 this had increased to 55%.
