Are they sure it's from the 1950's? It looks more like from the 1980's to me.

Hi Kenny,
Yes, the yo-yo is provenanced to the 1950s by the donor, who played with it at the time. The 1980s yo-yos were probably retro-styled.

hi I have been a Coca Cola yo yo collector for years and agree with Kennys comment...this yo yo is not 1950's but much later...first coca cola yo yo issued in Australia was the imported Sprite Boy then in the 1960's the green rim pause for a coke...the style of the illustrated one is of the late 1970's onwards...

Hi Kenny and Bernard,
After further investigation and contact with the donor, it is confirmed that the yo-yo is not from the 1950s. Our records will be updated to reflect this.
Thank you for letting us know!

Yes Definately 100% Not from the 50's,I am a Collector and I will tell you the most simplest way to tell if a Coca cola Yo'yo is made prior to 1981 and that is,if the Yo'yo has Engraved kind of Writing on its face that means it was made prior to 1981 as after that year they only Used Prints for the writing on the Faces (Apart from the Japanese Coca cola 1970's Yo'Yo Reproduction).
Cheers :-)
