July 27th 1838 / CASHIER OF THE TAMAR (TAMAR crossed out and 'Derwent Agency' written above) / Pay to Mr Willoby or Bearer, the sum of / Fifty three Pounds ten shillings (two words I can't work out) / Buckety (?) Cheque and place the same to the account of / L 53 - 10 - 0 (signed and cancelled by crossing out) John Batman. The hand written display tag on the paper to which the note is glued reads - Mr. Willoby was Batman's Manager / He married Batman's widow in 1841

I wonder if the wording on this cheque, following on from the amount in words, could be "Wm A. Buckley cheque"? Wm Buckley was that escaped convict who assisted Batman with the local tribes when he came to Port Phillip. Does anyone else think that could be correct? And if so, what ws the context I wonder?
