- One of a set of lantern slide depicting buildings and residents at the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind (RVIB, later Vision Australia), located at 557 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
- Standard format (3¼ x 3¼ inch square) lantern slide, comprising black & white photographic image printed on glass with black paper rectangular mask against image under protective glass cover plate; sealed with black paper binding tape around edge. White paper label adhered to front.

- Seven boys and men seated and standing at workbenches. Broomheads, timber, machinery and equipment are on workbenches and in the background. In workshop for the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind (RVIB).
