Summary:: Black and white, silver gelatin photograph of guests seated at tables at a Kodak presentation dinner in Sydney to welcome home those Kodak employees who had served in World War II, 1946-1947.

This photograph is one of a series of eight black and white photographs. This dinner was held for the Sydney branch and was one of a number of dinners held in 1946 or 1947.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This photograph is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Description:: Black and white silver gelatin photograph, printed on medium weight paper, landscape format with a white border.
Description Of Content:: The photograph was taken from a high angle and features almost one hundred guests, ranging in age from youth to the elderly, who are seated at long tables for dinner. Seven serving staff are standing at the back of the room. The women at the tables mostly wear hats and many have floral accessories on their dresses. The tables feature menus, bottles, glasses, plates with food on them, cutlery and flower arrangements.
