Teddy Bear - Richmond Football Club, 1960s
Reg. No: HT 24034
- Summary:
- Black and yellow teddy bear featuring a Richmond Football Club 'Tigers' cloth label adhered to its chest. It is possible that this bear was adapted by its Richmond supporting owners and there is no manufacturer's label. Footy supporters have always found creative ways to demonstrate their team allegiances. Such bears, whether manufactured or dressed in gear knitted by mothers for young barrackers, were carried to and from footy grounds all over Melbourne.
- Description:
- Teddy bear with acrylic fur in bright yellow on face, chest and paws and the rest in black. The bear has black and brown glass eyes with black plastic surrounds, black fur nose and red felt mouth. On the chest is adhered a cloth label with a tiger and the word 'tigers' all in yellow and black.
