Catalogue - Hugh V. McKay, Sunshine Farm Implements, Sunshine, circa 1909 TradeLiterature Reg. No: TL 015180

The catalogue covers a range of products including a detailed descriptions of their functions and possible uses. It also outlines that the Sun Twin-Disc Cultivator has been "specifically adapted for work amongst Mallee Stumps".

An interesting element of the catalogue is the sale of rabbit proof metal gates. Throughout the catalogue there are small etches of the Sunshine Harvester Works as well as farmers using McKay products for their work. The back cover features a large full page view of the Sunshine Harvester works with smoking chimneys and trains leaving and travelling past the factory.

The original publication date for this catalogue is likely to have been about 1909, as on page 5 it mentions in relation for the 'Sunflower' disc cultivator that 'This implement has been phenominally successful, and in the short space of two years has jumped into the proud position of the Leading Disc Cultivator of the Commonwealth.' The 'Sunflower' was first produced in 1907. Also it does not mention the steel-framed Stripper Harvester first released in 1909 or the Scott engines introduced in 1912.
