- Black and white photograph depicting a group of approximately seven girls playing 'Tip the Finger' in a government school playground in Melbourne.
It is one of a group of photographs probably taken by American folklorist Dr Dorothy Howard while she was studying children's games and playlore in Australia under a Fulbright research grant,1954-1955. Her photographs and research have become part of the Australian Children's Folklore Collection at Museum Victoria - part of the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register.

- Shows a group of approximately seven girls playing 'Tip the Finger' in a government school playground in Melbourne. One girl is standing with her back to the others, while they touch her back with their fingers. She is wearing a checked summer school dress, with sandals and socks. An expanse of sealed playground is visible in the background.
