Description Of Content:
Frank Hirst at operating console (right) with Herald staff reporter Kerry Pearce. Herald-Sun photo 15 June, 1956. Note: this was a publicity photograph. In practice CSIRAC storage capacity at this stage would have been insufficient to hold a program sophisticated enough to play chess. (Note: fold on photo).
