- Little girls in white dancing dresses walking across a yard, away from the camera, towards a group of adults.
This photograph shows Christine Johnson, on the right hand side, in a group of little girls at a 1954 end-of-year performance at a makeshift kindergarten at the Tennis Club House in Deepdene Park. When the Tennis Club wasn't being used for tennis it was the kindergarten. During the baby boom after World War II, many buildings were used as kindergartens. Margaret Johnson, Mrs Bedgood (of Bedgood shoes) and Mrs Menzies (Sir Robert Menzie's sister in law) started the kindergarten. - Acquisition Information:
