Marty Hart, Chief Engineer, reading a newspaper on board 'MV Conis', a Shell oil tanker, in April 1987 in his dayroom. A shortwave radio is behind him in the porthole. He is in uniform. Working as a crew member on a commercial ship has meant long times apart for Marty, his wife Devon and their children.
