- Description Of Content:
- Woman in cloche hat, seated in a lounge room. She is holding a closed umbrella, sitting by a fur wrap and there are ornaments and pictures in the background.
This photograph shows Emily Brearley, in the family lounge room, Sandringham, about 1920. 'Em' Brearley was the wife of Fred Brearley. According to the family, Fred was very interested in ceramics and collected some 'good' pieces. The china owl in the back of the photograph was given to their niece Nancy Gallagher after they died. The photograph was probably taken at their family home 'Sunnyside' in Sandringham. Fred and Em lived with Em's parents, Jim and Amelia Fletcher for a long time after World War I. Fred's brother in law Stan Fletcher also chose to settle on the same street.
