This photograph shows the formation of maypoles in Melbourne Cricket Ground, 1954. The contributor's mother was one of the teachers in this pageant of Melbourne school children for the Queen's Visit. The Queen drove around the perimeter of the Melbourne Cricket Ground whilst the children performed their maypole routine. - Acquisition Information:
