Girl and woman posed in mock plane.

This photograph shows Eliza Pollard and Glenys Esperson, posing for a 'pretend departure' at Essendon Airport, 1940. Eliza Pollard (know as 'Auntie Tom') would take her niece Glenys Esperson on trips all over town. Glenys remembers they would go 'On the tram to the end of the terminus and the like.' Here they went out to Essendon Airport and had a photo taken of a 'pretend' departure.
