This photograph shows Ruth King and three friends at Mentone Beach in their swimming costumes, 1926. Ruth's daughter Gloria remembers that outings like these were an important part of her parents' courtship. Ruth King is second from the right, and is wearing a bathing cap. The photographer, her fiance Chris Lancaster was an artist and not only hand tinted the photographs, but drew decorations and sketches all the way through the album. The early part of the album shows the years Ruth and Chris were courting.
