The interior of an Olympic sized swimming pool and concrete stadium under construction.

This photograph shows the interior of the Olympic Pool under construction, before the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956. It was taken in August, just before the Games began. David would go looking to see what was happening to the Olympic construction sites on the weekend. He remembers it was a very exciting time, only 12 years after the War and a very big deal for the people of Melbourne. David says he can't imagine how he managed to get inside the construction site.
