Digital Photograph - 'Dunny' Toilet & Chicken Coop, Backyard, Glenroy, 1960 Image Reg. No: MM 110571

Description Of Content:
Out-door 'dunny' toilet and chicken coop in a backyard, behind fruit trees and clothes line.

This image shows the outside toilet and the chicken coop of Janet and Peter Dominiewski's new home in Glenroy, August 1960. Their daughter Michele remembers 'It was too far to go out to the toilet at night so the kids had a bucket inside for night time.' As well as being a long way down the garden it was also a scary prospect for the children as 'the chickens would randomly attack, pecking at them as they approached the 'dunny'.'
