Digital Photograph - Girl & Man Holding Infant Boy, Standing Outside Chicken Run, Pascoe Vale, circa 1930 Reg. No: MM 110597
- Description Of Content:
- A girl and a man holding an infant boy, standing outside a chicken run.
This photograph shows Amy Milner and George Milner holding baby Theo, outside their poultry farm, circa 1930. This was a poultry farm on Pascoe Vale Hill. It serviced the local area up until the 1970s when George Milner died. At that time the land was sold for units. Susan Sutton, the Milner's granddaughter remembers 'there was a peddle organ in the back room which the children were allowed to 'touch'. There was no running water when they first moved there and her grandmother would walk down to Pascoe Vale station where there was a well and would walk buckets of water back to the property.'
