- Eight men with mops and buckets- seven in their shirts and braces. Only one is wearing his uniform. Several are sitting on buckets and smoking pipes.
This photograph shows the police at the Russell Street Police Station, Melbourne, 1909. According to the family, they were ready for 'scrub out', cleaning the station with brooms, mops and buckets. Bernard Vincent Hughes is standing in the back row, fourth from the right. He is the only one in uniform. - Acquisition Information:
