The photographer Judy Archer remembers: 'In those days you went to the counter and asked for what you wanted and then they delivered to your home. Arthur Brown worked at Carter Bros. in Fletcher Street Essendon, both at the counter and with the deliveries. At the time the road in Prospect Street, Glenroy, where the photo was taken, was unmade. Carter Bros. had stores across Melbourne.' - Description:
