This stereograph shows the Druids Float, an elaborate horse drawn float with women in Neo-Classical dress seated on it. It forms part of the Friendly Societies Procession, for the Duke of York's visit for Federation celebrations, 1901. It is passing under a painted banner which has been suspended over the street. There are flags and other procession participants in the background. This stereograph came from a collection of Melba Ryan's grandparents, Josephine and Martin Nowlan. A lot of them were bought around Federation as souvenirs. They were passed down to Melba's mother, Doris Holden, who passed them down to her.
