A man crouching over a fire, cooking in a frying pan, with a woman standing behind.

This photograph shows a man cooking over a fire at the camp site for Holden Brothers Circus, circa 1918. Adolphus Holden is cooking, and Florence his wife is standing behind. The 'Big Top' tent is going up in the background. The kerosene tins on the fire are boiling up drinking water. According to the family: 'Florence would go into town and get meat from the butchers, and made stew for everyone.' The location is unknown.
