Summary:: Letter inviting Councillor G.G. Fullarton, Mayor of Keilor, to join the official party on the dais at the opening of the Tullamarine Freeway, presided over by Sir Henry Bolte, Premier of Victoria, on Tuesday 3rd February 1970. Issue on Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works letterhead from 110 Spencer Street, Melbourne, 29 January 1970.

Graeme Fullarton was living in East Keilor at the time, where he had purchased a block of land in November 1959 on a new housing estate and later built a house with his wife Elaine. In 1966 Graeme stood as an independent candidate in the City of Keilor municipal elections and was successful, serving as a councillor for several years and as Mayor in 1969-1970. He represented the City of Keilor as a guest at the official opening of the new Melbourne Airport, at Tullamarine and at events to mark the opening of the Tullamarine and Calder Freeways.
Description:: Electric typed letter on single sheet of quarto-sized letterhead with circular crest of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works printed in blue in the top centre.
Below is stamped ‘CITY OF KEILOR RECEIVED 30 JAN 1970’.

Inscriptions:	Main text of letter in typescript reads: "29 January 1970 The Chairmen of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works and the Country Roads Board would be pleased if His Worship the Mayor of Keilor, Cr. G. G. Fullarton, J.P., would join them on the official dais at the opening of the Tullamarine Freeway by the Honourable Sir Henry Bolte KCMG., MP., Premier of Victoria, on Tuesday next, 3rd February. Mayoral robes should not be worn and cars should be parked in the area reserved for quests, as shown on the Entrée Card enclosed herewith."
