- Pamphlet titled 'Flood Information Horsham' it was published by the Wimmera Catchment Management Authority in October 2008. It was still available after February 2009 and outlines general information about dealing with flooding in the Horsham region. Photographic images are included of the Horsham area in flood. It contains a listing of agencies who can assist in times of flood and notes key sources of flood information.
Highlights include the need to stay informed about warnings and preventative measures are also suggested. These measures include those that can be taken prior to flooding, during flooding, during the evacuation process and recovery. A checklist is provided for personal use as well as historical data about previous flooding (including flood heights and behaviour). A map showing the riverine flooding extent in Horsham is also included. Contact details for assistance in an emergency are noted including those for state government and local emergency authorities.
The pamphlet is endorsed by SES, Horsham Rural City Council, State Government of Victoria, and the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry. It reflects community safety education and emergency response prior to Black Saturday.
