Lantern Slides - 'Precious Pigs' Series, circa 1860-1900 Reg. No: MM 109846
- Set of 12 lantern slides depicting a children's story titled 'Precious Pigs'.
This set of lantern slides are part of the Francis Collection of pre-cinematic apparatus and ephemera, acquired by the Australian and Victorian Governments in 1975. David Francis was the curator of the National Film and Sound Archive of the British Film Institute as well as being a co-founder of the Museum of the Moving Image in London, which was operational between 1988 and 1999.
- Standard format (3¼ x 3¼ inch square) lantern slide, comprising hand coloured print on glass with black paper edging under a protective glass cover plate.

- Series of 12 scenes depicting pigs dressed as human characters walking upright on hind legs.
