Summary:: Colour photograph showing Sir Shridath Ramphal, Commonwealth Secertary-General, seated with Charles Gunawardena, Director of the Information Division, Commonwealth Secretariat, Tony Eggleton, former Director of the Information Division, and two other unidentified men on the stage preparing to address the media in the Media Theatre in the Western Annexel, Royal Exhibition Building, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held between 30 September and 7 October 1981.

This is one of 959 photographs (or images) of the Exhibition Building collated by the Exhibition Trustees as a 10 volume pictorial history of the Exhibition Building spanning the years 1880 to 1985. The pictorial history was instigated by the centenary of the Exhibition Building in 1980 and forms part of a larger Royal Exhibition Building collection of documents, photographs, objects and research files.

Description Of Content:: View of a five men seated on the stage in the Media Theatre in the Western Annexe, Royal Exhibition Building, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 1981. Behind them hangs an orange and white striped curtain in front of which hangs a green stylised logo of Australia with a yellow 'C' surrounding a globe, the 1981 variant of the CHOGM logo.
