- This interview covers the early history of this property, David's father's purchase of the land in 1939, Robin's early life at "Merriang Homestead" and her family's involvement in tobacco farming, their marriage in 1963 and raising four children, the development of their property, declining rainfall during the recent drought, their involvement in community organisations including the Rosewhite CFA, changing demographics of the area, experience of the 1968 and 2006 Alpine bushfires. The interview also includes their fire preparation for the summer of 2008-2009, the defence of their property and house during the Black Saturday bushfire, the material and financial impact of this fire, the challenges of bureaucracy following the fires, and reflections on the bushfire recovery process and Royal Commission.
