Program - 'World's Professional Tennis Tour', 1948 Reg. No: HT 35818
- Official program for the first World's Professional Tennis Tour of Australia, 1948. The tour commenced in Sydney, then to Melbourne where games were played at the (Royal) Exhibition Building. The donor, who was 14 at the time, recalls that matches were to be played on the wooden floor, but the surface proved too fast for the players so the floor was covered with canvas. Spectators watched from the mezzanine level. The program features biographical entries with photographs of top international players: John Kramer, Robert Riggs, Pancho Segura and Dennis Pails.
- Small program, cardboard cover with paper inserts, stapled at spine. All printed with brown ink.
